Apologies for not posting recently. Been busy this holiday season with family photos, print orders, and designing holiday cards.
Wanted to pause for a minute and post a quick picture of my super sassy niece. She tends to go back and forth on the naughty and nice list this time of year. Big news! She’s going to be a big sister soon! Baby #2 is coming this summer! Yay! More babies for me to photograph!
Okay, some background about the pucker face photo below. This is what happens when you lie to children. We had to bribe Taylor with sweet treats during her photo session. “One more picture and you get a cookie!”…. “Okay Taylor- that was great! How about 2 more? 3? 4?” There was no fooling Taylor now that she knows how to count! Taylor loves her “B” (Blanket). The thing is slowly disintegrating!

WOW- when Kristina told me she was throwing a Lilly Pulitzer themed bridal shower for her sister, she wasn’t kidding! Everything was wonderfully decorated down to the last minute detail. Kris- you did a fabolous job! Congratulations Sandi on your upcoming nuptials and wish you all the best!

Both Becky and Mary’s husbands are enlisted in the US Navy and currently deployed. Here’s a sneak peek at today’s OpLove Photo Session!
Becky’s children, Jonathan and Conner.

Mary’s cute little baby Joseph!

Ofcourse Mary’s dog, Ruby, had to get in on the photo op as well!

Go Navy!

This weekend I’m heading up to New York to attend a wedding as a guest (actually already here in the hotel room!) and wanted to tote along my DSLR. The only thing I had to tote it in (that would fit my camera body and lenses) was one of those old school padded camera bags and I didn’t want to wheel around my pelican case. Which I think would totally clash with my outfit and make me look like an Asian tourist. I’ve been looking into a stylish camera bag for awhile now. I’ve been drooling over the Epiphanie bags and jill-e bags forever but wanted to save up for another camera lens. Then the thought hit me…why can’t I convert an everyday purse into a camera bag? I did it with my Kate Spade baby bag awhile back. I didn’t have any purses that were large enough or stylish enough to convert so I headed to the mall and found the perfect unique bag! I love it! At first I thought…can I pull this off? So I snapped a photo with my camera phone and sent it to my sister and waited for her review. I can always count on my sister for advice- I know she would be brutally honest with me.
Well take a look at my new (sister approved) fashionable camera bag! I had to stop at Joann Fabrics to pick up some foam and fabric for padding. I found a nice fabric pattern for the interior to match the bag. I don’t own a sewing machine but picked up some magic hem tape (love that stuff!). I also had a 50% coupon so the fabric + foam was $8.
The bag I got on sale at Macys- reg. $88, was 40% off AND I had a 20% coupon! Bought the bag for $44!!! It would have been a crime not to buy it!

I started photographing the bag in our hotel room. Dave said “Seriously? Your camera bag gets it’s own photoshoot now?” He found it funny how proud and happy the bag made me so ofcourse he had to poke fun. This is my husband modeling my new DIY Fashionista Camera Bag!
“Is it a purse? Is it a camera bag? Oh wait! It’s both! It’s a camera purse!!”

Here’s an interior shot-

Yes- it’s by Jessica Simpson!

So what do you think? Total cost was $52.
I had so much fun photographing the C family in Phoenix Maryland this weekend. This family loves to laugh and you can tell they know how to have fun! Dad snuck into the house every now and then to catch up on the World Cup but we still managed to capture some great shots. The C family is truly a beautiful family- inside and out! Early congrats to Ryan, the eldest of the sisters, who is getting married in two weeks!

Even Toby got in on the photoshoot!

I met my husband ten years ago while he was stationed in the Army at Fort George G. Meade. I was excited when Keila called me to do an OpLove Homecoming on post. Driving onto base brought back so many memories. Fort Meade is such a nice community and you could tell the military families have a great bond with one another.
Keila’s husband Jesse has been stationed in Iraq (thank-you for serving our country proud!) so this has been a long awaited homecoming. Together since highschool, Keila & Jesse have two young boys, one 19months, the other 4months. Caring for two kids is hard enough, imagine doing it while your husband is off to war. Keila- you are one amazing woman and mom! Thank-you for allowing me to share in your special day!

The leaves have changed into their autumn colors and are slowly falling to the ground. Thankfully, we were able to fit in a photoshoot before the trees became barren. We were so lucky that the weather was nice and not too chilly! I joined my sister, brother-in-law, and niece at Centennial Park. The park was busy! I think everyone was out that day enjoying the beautiful weather with their families!
Taylor is growing so fast! She’s becoming a chatterbox and super sassy to boot! I love her so much! She always manages to make me laugh and smile.

My little neice, Taylor, is turning the BIG ONE DIGIT this week! Happy Birthday Tayls! You are my favorite subject to photograph!
(Don’t be fooled by the innocent smile…she is quite the sassy & adventourous child!)

Wishing all family and friends a Happy New Year!
